Nicoletta Ceccoli’s Wonderland

The tal­ented book illus­tra­tor for chil­dren lives and works in one of the tini­est coun­tries in the world, San Marino, yet her work is inter­na­tion­ally renowned, hav­ing received The Award of Excel­lence 4 times already and hav­ing exhib­ited /illustrated books in both Europe and North America.

Her oddly beau­ti­ful princesses and fairytale-like char­ac­ters are dreamy and poetic, roman­tic and dark at the same time, with a sur­re­al­ist touch. I am happy to be among the for­tu­nate ones who had the plea­sure of admir­ing some of her works about a year ago, in a Euro­pean Illus­tra­tors Exhibition.
